Mosaic House Update
While the property may appear quiet, a great deal of work has been happening behind the scenes.
Last year, after removing the existing house and watching construction begin on the Rutherford County DSS Lighthouse, we felt it was important to pause and ensure we had a clear vision for the future of the property. We wanted to steward the generosity of our donors well and carefully consider how this nearly five-acre campus could best serve children, caregivers, social workers, and families in our community.
To help guide this process, we partnered with Third Lens through a program called Project Launch. Together, we evaluated needs, clarified priorities, developed project costs and timelines, and created a fundraising strategy for the future Mosaic House campus.
As we prayed and dreamed about the future of the property, one thing became clear: the best place to begin is with the CARE Cottage.
The CARE Cottage will become the new home of the CARE Closet while also providing office, meeting, and training space for Mosaic Hope. Families will be able to access essentials such as clothing, diapers, hygiene items, and car seats in a welcoming, boutique-style environment designed to promote dignity and support. The space will also serve as a hub for connection, collaboration, and education as we continue equipping our community to care for vulnerable children and families.
Thanks to generous support from Leadership Rutherford Class of 2025, the Rutherford County Endowment Fund, and many other donors throughout our community, we now have the funding needed to move forward with construction of the CARE Cottage.
In recent months, we have finalized building plans, worked through the septic permitting process, prepared to close the old well and septic system, and completed site preparation, including grading and tree removal.
We are excited to share that the project is moving forward and hope to announce a groundbreaking date soon. Thank you for believing in this vision and for helping create a place where children, caregivers, social workers, and families can find practical support, meaningful connection, and hope for the future..
